Pollutant Investigation Data Analysis and Application of Water and Sediment in River

Absrtact
To improve the applicative value of river water quality analysis, this study evaluate the measurements of inorganic heavy metal of 4 investigated rivers and sediments, namely Fulin River, Puzih River, Daikangan River, and Tokuei River, using multivariate statistical methods in 2021. This study used heat map and hierarchical cluster analysis to identify the hotspots of the high concentra-tion of heavy metals in water and sediments samples; in addition, the potential correlations among river water samples and environmental conditions were il-lustrated as integration of water monitoring data and hourly precipitation providing by Taiwan Environmental Protection Administration and Central Weather Bureau, respectively. These information provide the patterns of heavy metals in surface water of studied rivers. The concentrations of heavy metals were visualized using indicator kriging and co-kriging methods in Geographic Information System. Finally, pollution potential indicators, developed by Soil and Groundwater Pollution Remediation Fund Management Board, were ap-plied in this study to show the spatial pollution level and provide the reference for the future investigation and river management. The team hold the workshop to educate the users and promote the website (River Information Map: https://niea.epa.gov.tw/NieaGIS/) in November of 2021. The River Information Map provide the original investigation data, visualized statistical figures that will help the relevant stakeholders to understand our river environment, share and value the river investigation data, and meet the goal of open government.
